THE COUNCIL OF EVANGELISM AND MISSIONS

DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

1.) To be responsible to promote the cause of evangelism in the Regional Conferences and to guide them in preparing the programme for the same.

2.) To prepare the programme for the “Evangelism and Mission Week” to be observed throughout the MCI. The second week of August shall be designated for this purpose.

3.) To determine as to what fields missionaries shall be sent to; and to recruit, train and appoint them to those fields in consultation with the Council of Bishops.

4.) To determine the financial needs of the mission work and apportion amount to the Regional Conferences.

5.) To promote the work of the missions in all the Regional Conferences. The Executive Secretary shall visit the Regional Conferences to hold seminars, workshops and mission conferences for this purpose. He shall also arrange for the itineration of missionaries of the MCI in the Regional Conferences.

6.) To approve the budget prepared by the Executive Secretary and the Treasurer and help in the raising of the budget.

7.) To have authority to establish mission stations and to appoint missionaries with proper qualifications to these stations.

8.) To encourage all activities that will promote the cause of the mission. This will include educational, social, medical and similar charitable activities.

9.) To Study the audit report and approve it.

10.) To fix the terms of service, remuneration and other benefits for the missionaries appointed by
